Hunters Corner Town Centre Society is a Business Improvement District Association in Manukau City funded by a targeted rate on local businesses. Its role is to improve the economic, social and cultural vitality of the Hunters Corner town centre.

Faced with challenges of a low profile, rising crime trends, increasing graffiti and competition from nearby shopping malls the Society needed a strategic plan that made the most of existing opportunities and developed strengths through effective collaboration. The participatory planning approach, including a number of facilitated workshops involving a variety of important stakeholders, created an agreed action path as well as real energy, enthusiasm and commitment. The Society saw instant results from the process and, following the plan, has continued to go from strength to strength.
